Luckily, spring summer collections had been presented last fall and that gave us almost half a year to prepare for the upcoming season! As I was watching fashion shows I found some really cool trends, that are going to rule 2017, so let’s get to know them!
Color of the year
As you may know Pantone is well known brand that predicts and establishes colors of the year. In 2016 a pastel pink (Rose Quartz) and pastel blue (Serenity) had been the most important ones. This time Greenery was entitled color of the year 2017.
Greenery is a color of upcoming spring. It is connected with grass, nature and flourishing world. Although I like this color in design and nature, I can’t come around it in fashion. Luckily, there are some other collateral shades which will be ruling 2017! My favorites are Pale Dogwood and Pink Yarrow! You can see that almost all of the colors, that I’ve shown before, we can find in Valentino’s new collection. I guess Pierpaolo Piccoli did his job well and read all the trendbooks! 🙂

Avant garde shirt
Last year brought the popularity of the classic shirt. We won’t forget about it this spring! But this time in fashion won’t be a classic piece, but an avant grade one – you have to use your imagination! Designers want you to wear it without sleeves, with deconstructed shoulders, ill-assorted buttons or open back. Whatever you do just remember to make it less boring! We could see this trend at Stella McCartney, Alexander Wand or Monse.

Stripes
Stripes are the most important print in 2017! We could see this trend at Lanvin, Monse, Mulberry or Louis Vuitton. This spring designers are offering you to wear stripes from head to toe. What do you think?

White shoes
As I was watching the street style photography at fashion week, I saw that almost every woman decided to wear white shoes – especially heeled boots! The man responsible for that is Demna Gvasalia at Balenciaga. That type of shoes was shown on the runway last spring and become loved by it girls – one of them is Pernille Teisbaek, a Dutch blogger, who wear her Balenciaga boots all the time!

Boyfriend blazer
Fashion likes to treat the genders equally. Thats why we already borrowed jeans and shirts from our boyfriends closets. This spring designers want us to wear our boyfriends blazers. In fashion are wide arms and oversize shapes. If you are looking for an inspiration, it is worth to mention Cristobal Balenciaga – the legendary designer started the fashion for disproportion and huge arms paddings. That kind of tailoring was seen in Celine and Balenciaga.

Art
Yves Klein at Celine, Hieronymus Bosh at Valentino and antique sculptures at Provenza Schouler. Art was a huge inspiration for spring summer collections. When it comes to Celine, Phoebe Philo was inspired by Yves Klein’s performance which he held in the 60-ties. He invited women who then painted theirs naked bodies in blue paint and stamped them on a white canvas. The shape that was created by that movement was called Anthropometry and became a title of a whole performance. At Celine models were wearing dresses with the same stamps of blue paint on them.
Valentino was inspired by „The Garden of Earthly Delights” painted by Hieronymus Bosh, so he reproduced the image on the long dress. Last but not least, Proenza Schouler used images of ancient sculptures and made them a modern collages, that imitates Francis Bacon works of art.

Opposition
When it comes to accessory, this spring in fashion will be huge and super small bags. We could see this contrast at Celine and Valentino show. In first, models were wearing bags that almost touched the floor and at Valentino on the opposite – bags were so small that could carry only phone, lipstick or credit cards.
